As Tropical Storm Isaac approaches the Gulf Coast, Pi Kappa Phi is continuing to monitor the progress of the storm and the impact it may have on our undergraduate chapters in the Gulf States. Pi Kappa Phi has emailed all undergraduate members, advisors and fraternity/sorority life professionals at institutions that could be be affected by Isaac.
Those schools include: Alpha Gamma (Oklahoma), Beta Mu (McNeese State), Beta Nu (Houston), Beta Omicron (Northwestern State), Gamma Delta (Memphis), Gamma Iota (LSU), Theta Alpha (Southern Mississippi), Theta Pi (UT–Tyler), Theta Phi (Louisiana Tech), Iota Zeta (Stephen F. Austin), Mississippi State Associate Chapter and Arkansas - Ft. Smith Associate Chapter.
Chapters and members in the path of the storm are encouraged to follow the guidelines and instructions of their campus officials and emergency management officials. Members have been encouraged to reference the Hurricane Safety Preparation Guide developed by the Department of Homeland Security for additional preparation tips. Additionally, members should review the Hurricane Preparedness Guide provided by our insurance carrier, Willis, Inc.
Pi Kappa Phi is committed to the safety of all members, and as such, will remain a resource for affected chapters throughout the weekend. In case of an emergency, chapter members should first contact local authorities. In addition, chapters can reach Chris Conner at the National Headquarters at (704) 807-6528 throughout the week and weekend.
