Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity

Alumni gather in Chicago and Houston

On August 11, a group of 53 alumni representing more than seven chapters met for the 17th Annual Pi Kappa Phi Open Golf Tournament.  For nearly two decades, Ken Loch Golf Course in Lombard, Illinois, has served as the host course for this golf tournament for Chicago-area Pi Kappa Phis.

“The event gets bigger every year, so we will use the same format next year,” said Bruce Swanson, Beta Delta (Drake), who organized this year’s event.  “A big congratulation goes our champion for 2012, Bill Mellin from Beta Lambda Chapter at the University of Tampa.”

Nearly a month later and further to the south, Houston played host for a reception for area alumni. Pi Kappa Phi CEO Mark Timmes, Alpha Epsilon (Florida), attended the event, which was held at the home of Past National President Ernest Johnson, Alpha Iota (Auburn). More  than 35 Pi Kappa Phi men attended the event to connect and reconnect with fellow brothers.

“We were especially proud with the turnout of young alumni, many of whom are already actively involved with their alumni chapters,” said Timmes.

With the help of volunteers in 40 cities across the country, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity is planning more than 20 alumni events between now and next summer.  Visit our calendar of events to view upcoming events and be sure to update your contact information (including your email address) to ensure you will be notified when an event is being held in you area.
