Delta Zeta Rechartering

Delta Zeta Chapter recharters at Appalachian State

The Delta Zeta Associate Chapter was rechartered at Appalachian State University on September 30, 2017.

Mr. Pi Kappa Phi and Past National President, Phil Tappy, Lambda (Georgia), and Past Regional Governor, Art Quickenton, Delta Zeta (Appalachian State), served as installation officers for the Fraternity’s rechartering of our Delta Zeta Chapter at Appalachian State University. The Epsilon Rho (Lenoir-Ryhne) and Epsilon Eta (Winthrop) chapters initiated 47 new founding fathers into the Pi Kappa Phi brotherhood. It was a memorable experience for all involved.

Assistant Director of Expansion Dalton Guthery, Alpha Gamma (Oklahoma) and Leadership Consultant Josiah Mihok, Delta Beta (North Georgia) represented the national fraternity and facilitated events over the weekend.

The chapter hosted their banquet at the local Masonic Lodge in Boone. Becky Cooke, the Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor, welcomed all in attendance on behalf of the University and issued warm remarks from the Greek Life Office. Dalton Guthery spoke on behalf of the National Fraternity. Phil Tappy delivered the keynote address. Brother Tappy challenged the chapter to continue to create and shape the legacy of Pi Kappa Phi at Appalachian State University. Brother Quickenton gave a few impassioned remarks before he presented the chapter with their new Charter. Gary Sugg, Delta Zeta (Appalachian State), who has served diligently as the chapter’s advisor, was also in attendance along with several other proud alumni.

The Appalachian State Fraternity & Sorority Life community and Pi Kappa Phi National Headquarters are both extremely proud of the new refounding fathers of the Delta Zeta Chapter and look forward to all that they will accomplish.
