During the month of March, the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation and the Council of Archons led the inaugural ‘March Madness Membership Drive’ for the National President’s Circle.
Members of the National President’s Circle make a gift of $20 to the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation to help support the leadership and educational initiatives of Pi Kappa Phi. This year, students joined in record numbers.
Since Mid Year Leadership Conferences in January, 492 students have joined, donating more than $10,000 to support their fraternity.
“Our students are lining up in record numbers to support the Foundation,” said Tom Atwood, executive director of the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation. “This makes a strong statement that our student members are not only interested in making Pi Kappa Phi a leading fraternity today, but in financially supporting their fraternity for the future as well.”
The Foundation also turned the membership drive in to a competition for chapters across the country for a chance to win a scholarship for Mid Year Leadership Conference 2012.
With 21 students joining, Omicron (Alabama) wins the crown for the most members joining the National President’s Circle. At 52 percent, Alpha Gamma (Oklahoma) wins the award for the chapter with the highest percentage of members joining the National President’s Circle.

The drive was meant to raise awareness among student members about the impact the Foundation has on Pi Kappa Phi students, while at the same time, recruiting new members to the National President’s Circle, which is the student giving club for the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation.
All students who joined the National President’s Circle will receive an honorary lapel pin, recognizing them as leaders who go above and beyond in their support of Pi Kappa Phi. They will also receive periodic news updated from the National President or Foundation staff, keeping them up-to-date on the latest with Pi Kappa Phi.
