To support the philosophy of Pi Kappa Phi, the Fraternity offers an alcohol education menu for our chapters and associate members. This menu includes AlcoholEdu, the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP), and risk management training at the chapter level.
As a condition of membership within the Fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi is excited to offer its associate members AlcoholEdu for College – a science-based course taken by tens of thousands of students each year. AlcoholEdu for College offers a confidential, personalized experience for each associate member. All associate members are required to participate, complete, and pass the program with a grade of 70% or higher. The course aims not to preach but rather to educate associate members about alcohol and its effects on the mind and body. Whether or not you choose to drink, AlcoholEdu for College empowers you to make well-informed decisions and better cope with the drinking behavior of peers.
Every other year, a trained facilitator visits each Pi Kappa Phi chapter to deliver the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP). This two and a half hour program is unlike most alcohol programs because it acknowledges that college students drink, and rather than try to impose abstinence on college students, it acknowledges that any steps toward reduced risk are steps in the right direction.
