LEADERS BY CHOICE
We all face choice everyday.
And the choices we make can affect the rest of our lives.
Choosing the right fraternity is an important decision—one
that will have a profound impact on your days as a student
and in your life as a leader.
Pi Kappa Phi’s commitment to leadership dates
back more than 100 years to our humble roots at the
College of Charleston where our founders exemplified
leadership in the classroom, on the athletic field,
in campus politics and within the community. Pi Kappa
Phi Fraternity was founded to further create leadership
opportunities—by men who made the choice to lead.
Today, on more than
140
campuses across America, Pi
Kappa Phi has broadened its commitment to building men
who are leaders by choice.

In order to do so, the Pi Kappa Phi expansion team is recruiting men to become founding fathers of the new chapter—men who will choose to lead, and who believe in the ideals of Character, Leadership, Athletics, Scholarship and Service.

PI KAPPA PHI EXPANDS IN GRAND CANYON STATE
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—Pi Kappa Phi’s colony at Northern Arizona University has become the fraternity’s newest associate chapter and joins Beta Theta (Arizona) and Theta Xi (Arizona State) as the third chapter of Pi Kappa Phi in the Grand Canyon State. Senior Leadership Consultant Jake Henderson, Beta Theta (Arizona), and Leadership Consultant Mike Larsson, Theta Xi (Arizona State), led the expansion effort, which yielded a chapter of 54 men—the third largest among Northern Arizona’s 14 NIC/FLA groups.
On February 21, at the end of the four-week recruitment process, the new associate chapter participated in an installation retreat facilitated by Leadership Consultant Derek Berger, Beta Xi (Central Michigan). Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity would like to thank the NAU Office of Student Life and Residence Life for their overwhelming support during the colonization, as well as the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council for their commitment and assistance throughout the Pi Kappa Phi’s expansion process.
PI KAPPA PHI RETURNS TO WINTHROP UNIVERSITY
ROCK HILL, S.C.—After almost 12 years of absence, Pi Kappa Phi has re-colonized of the Epsilon Eta chapter at Winthrop University. On January 22, Leadership Consultants Andrae Turner, Eta Rho (Texas State), and Walt Pape, Zeta Phi (Colorado State), recruited a solid core of men to become re-founding fathers of the chapter.
At the end of the four-week recruitment effort, the new associate chapter participated in an installation retreat held at the Kelley A. Bergstrom Leadership Center of Pi Kappa Phi in Charlotte, N.C. Pi Kappa Phi’s former Director of Communication Dave Vawter, Alpha Zeta (Oregon State), assisted with facilitating the retreat. Also in attendance was Chapter Advisor Scott Zimmer, Eta Gamma (Colorado), who delivered a compelling story about his personal experience as a founding father and challenged the men to recruit the right type of man that fits the mold of a leader by choice.
