Pi Kappa Phi Programming

We believe strongly in encouraging the betterment of men through intentional and productive programming opportunities. Providing all members with ongoing education is important in developing a meaningful brotherhood and also prepares members to shoulder their full responsibility as not just brothers, but conscientious members of the community.

Health & Safety Edu

Health & Safety Edu is an interactive program that focuses on alcohol consumption, hazing prevention, bystander intervention, sexual assault awareness, equity, inclusion and diversity. The goal of this program is to provide members with the skills to make safer and healthier decisions. The National Council of Pi Kappa Phi requires all associate members to complete Health & Safety Edu by the established deadline for the semester they join. Information about deadlines can be found in each associate member’s “Welcome to Pi Kappa Phi” email.

Students can access the module in the Virtual Journey by way of the Pi Kapp Hub. For more information about Health & Safety Edu, contact the prevention education team.

Culture of Respect

Culture of Respect is an online module that explores how dignity, accountability and everyday actions shape a safe, more inclusive chapter culture. All members are required to complete the module this fall with associate members completing it as part of Health & Safety Edu. The goal of this program is to empower students with the tools needed for healthy conflict resolution.

Students can access the module in the Virtual Journey by way of the Pi Kapp Hub. For more information about Culture of Respect, contact the prevention education team.

Ladder of Risk

The Ladder of Risk program provides in-person facilitated education about the Pi Kappa Phi Risk Management Policy and resources. Through this program, participants will participate in a conversation about how to host safer chapter events and strategies to reduce their risks as a chapter through scenarios, emergency management planning and the introduction to the Social Event Planning Guide. The goal of this program is for members to know and understand the Risk Management Policy, and for chapters to implement safe procedures at Pi Kappa Phi events.

For more information about bringing Ladder of Risk to your chapter, contact the prevention education team.

Ultimate Respect

“Ultimate Respect” is a term members of Pi Kappa Phi use every day. In this program, a trained facilitator will educate members and associate members on the Fraternity’s expectations related to the treatment of brothers, associate members and guests. Members and associate members learn how to create a culture that exemplifies Ultimate Respect ― a chapter where all people are treated with dignity and respect, and brothers are equipped with the skills needed to intervene effectively when members violate established expectations.

For more information about bringing the Ultimate Respect in Action workshop to your chapter, contact the prevention education team.

ASTP

The Alcohol Skills Training Program is unlike most alcohol programs because it acknowledges that college students drink. The goal of ASTP is to educate members on alcohol-related behavior while increasing their interest in critically examining drinking patterns and eventually implementing the skills they learn. In doing so, members can minimize the potential negative consequences through prevention, reduced consumption or abstinence.

Behind Happy Faces

Created by alumnus Ross Szabo, Theta Eta (American), Behind Happy Faces explores how we can better ourselves by being conscious of our mental well-being. Pi Kappa Phi recognizes the importance of mental health and commits to demonstrating it by providing a virtual or in-person mental health presentation from a trained facilitator to more than 60 chapters each year. The program discusses mental health literacy, helps participants recognize the common mental health challenges others face, demonstrates what actions are helpful to approach someone who needs help and more.
